9.26 and 10.26 Wheels and axels 

These items are becoming more readily available and we now have reasonable numbers in stock.

Recently some overseas manufacturers have returned to the old practice of using US length 25.8mm axels in their bogies. This is contrary to the accepted Australian Standard of 24.8mm axels and has led to some confusion by miodellers when buying replacement wheels.

The other inbteresting advent from all of this was the re-introduction of the cheaper option plastic axels. Even Blind Freddie knows that when you rub two like materials to-gether you create heat and something will give out. Generally it is the hip pocket nerve of the modeller.

AR Kits has been working for sometime now to get 25.8mm axels back in prodcution so that modellers have a real choice in replacement wheelsets for the poor quality imports. We are pleased to announce that the first lot of wheels are now available and ready for shipment..

These wheels are made to exacting standards by K&M and are an improvement on RP25/110 standards. They follow the real pattern of wheels used on the NEW South Wales Railways that were designed to prevent derailing as opposed to the old standards which had signigificant derail problems.
